If you let me browse on Pinterest for any give amount of time and I can find a plethora of summer activities for my kiddos (and forgo any and all motherly responsibility at the same time).
This idea for pom-pom shooters was one of them. You can read about the how I literally discovered the pom-poms and God’s pom-pom provision in my post here.
We assembled the little shooters and I guess my little plastic cups were a little too flimsy but I managed to get the cut balloon on them and let them play with them.
Boredom was busted for about 5 minutes.
Sigh.
Isn’t that ironic? I really thought they’d play with them more. But, we have a great story and I’m sure they will pick them up and play with them at some point…I think.
I guess the best part of this whole story was the look on my kids faces when I told them how God provided the pom-poms for this “craft.” Yep, sometimes the best mommy moments are the ones you don’t plan for or expect.
Where do you get ideas for your kids? I’d LOVE to hear them (and maybe copy a few) so please share them in the comments or like this blog on Facebook. Later this week I will share another summer kid activity from my Pinterest Mommy Tool Box- stay tuned!

As I write this, there are 3 buckets full of toys and water in the freezer. Gonna give the kids garden tools, the “toy” tools and whatever they can find outside to chip away at the ice to find their toys. My hubby made up a story about bad guys kidnapping their toys and putting them in ice jail. It’ll be their job to “free” them. This should be interesting tomorrow.
